WHAT IS TRAINSHED
TRAINSHED is a pop-up music venue in the heart of York City Centre. Only a few yards from York Railway Station, it is perfectly positioned and accessible by rail, road or bus services.
York Railway Institute (York RI) was established in 1889 by Henry Tennant on the site of the old Railway Tavern adjacent to the locomotive and carriage works on Queen Street. The institute featured a dining room accommodating 400 people, a library, a smoking and games room, and three classrooms aimed at enhancing the education of railway workers.
